Shannon
"Ambercroft Ardmore Shannon"
October l8, l99l     -    March l7, 2000.
I still find it difficult to talk or write about Shannon.  Tears well up in my eyes as I reflect on our time together.
Shannon was the one and only Canadian Bred Golden Retriever  I have owned.  Her bloodlines went back to the English Yeo Lines.
She truly was the most beautiful girl I have ever owned.  She was not only physically beautiful, but she had a heart of Gold.  Shannon was the epiphany of unconditional love.  She loved everyone.  She loved children and would nurture them as if they were her babies.  She intuitively knew what was needed. When any of the other females had puppies, she would clean them and if possible, nurse them as her own.
Shannon's greatest delight was swimming in the local river with my niece and her friends.  They would pretend that they drowning and she would dive into the water after them.  She would swim for hours.
Shannon achieved many placements in the Show ring.  She might ever well have achieved her champion title, but her love and devotion for prevented her from wanting to be shown.
Shannon truly was my best friend.  She was by my side when I was ill.  When it came her time, and Shannon suffered a stroke.  I could not bear to see her lose her dignity and suffer; so I let her go to her rest on St. Patrick's Day.  A year since her death I sprinkled her ashes over her favorite place - the River.
Shannon was a great tribute to Carol Lee's breeding at Ambercroft Kennel.  Thank you Carol for giving  me, my best friend.
Shannon will live on forever in my heart and through her son "Irish" and her  other grandchildren.

Liam
" Mandingo Seafarer"
January 28, l995   -   May, l999.
Liam was such a biddable dog who loved people.  He particularly loved children who would give him  their undivided attention. He thrived on human contact, he was not a pack dog and would have been quite content to have been the only dog. His passing  was unexpected.  He had swallowed a bee and had an allergic reaction to it.  By the time we realized that he was having difficulty breathing and taken him to the veterinarian, he had died.
Liam achieved his CD in Obedience and excelled in field work.
He was such a laid back dog that he was often a reluctant stud dog.  He much prefer to eat his dinner than breed a female.
The one and only female that he bred naturally, was "Shannon".  This resulted in  producing "Lueo Irish Pride,   Liam's spirit lives in "Irish" and Lenna" ,  He will always be remembered dearly by me and the children who loved him.
I want to thank Eva Harkness for this gentle boy,
